Feature Spotlight: Social Media Integration
DSID has multiple real-time integrations and advanced features to add depth to your digital signage presentations.
Whether you are frequently or infrequently using social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter to promote your practice, you should definitely integrate them for display through your digital signage presentation for increased visibility and heightened engagement.
What is it?
Simply put, DSID’s social media integration takes your or other’s posts from Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter and formats them for display through your digital signage presentation.
The integration is in real-time, so whatever you post to your practice accounts, will immediately be visible in your digital signage presentation.
It’s a great way to make sure your social media marketing efforts are seen by the patients visiting your office. This also helps them know that you are present on said social media platform, and could potentially encourage them to follow you. It also gives you the ability to tap into relevant content and increase engagement with your patients through your digital signage presentation.
How does it work?
For Instagram and Facebook, you will need to authorize those accounts through the DSID Portal in order for them to work. This is due to Facebook’s security measures to ensure more privacy over your data. Only your practice account(s) need to be authorized. However, for Facebook, only an administrator of your practice page can approve the authorization as they will need to login with their Facebook credentials. Instagram simply requires your account username and password. Twitter does not require any authorization (as of this writing).
Images and text are automatically resized to fit the partition of the screen in order for the post to be clearly visible and readable from a distance.
Posts cycle down from the most recent, displaying for 5 seconds at a time within a 30-45 second window per social media feed. So for example, assuming it’s active and authorized, when your Instagram feed loads in the presentation timeline, around 6-9 of your most recent Instagram posts will be seen, including image, post description, hashtags, and number of post likes.
For Twitter, you can display tweets from any public account simply by indicating the account name. Video posts are currently not supported, with the first frame of a video post showing instead.
All of these controls are handled through the DSID Portal. Should you have any questions or require assistance, please contact our support team.
